Assistant Director of Student Conduct & Community Standards POSITION DETAILS Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs, the Assistant Director of Student Conduct and Community Standards, supports the Division of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs (EMSA) initiatives for student engagement and judicial affairs. The Assistant Director is responsible for managing various processes including, but not limited to, records management, daily operations of student conduct and sanctioning, scheduling and training of hearing boards, and student/campus educational efforts. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: u2022 Manage and monitor a secure and confidential database on student discipline cases including judicial hearings and resolutions. u2022 Develop and implement initiatives, programs, activities, publications, and workshops that will promote positive and responsible student conduct and community standards. u2022 In adherence with CUNYu2019s policies and procedures, investigate and resolve student related complaints referred to the Office of Student Conduct, conduct and document investigations, and advise students of their rights and responsibilities. u2022 Collaborate with the Title IX Coordinator on cases by sharing and exchanging relevant information, maintaining regular communication, and, upon designation, facilitating Title IX informal resolution mediations. u2022 Maintain records regarding confidential student disciplinary/appeals documentation. u2022 Ensure the establishment and training of the collegeu2019s faculty-staff disciplinary committee, in adherence with CUNYu2019s Bylaws, Article XV, and in partnership with relevant offices. u2022 Serve as a member of the Collegeu2019s CARE team. u2022 Engage in the SAGE process (Systematic Approach to Guttman's Effectiveness) to assess the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards' programs and services and align to Guttman's strategic plan. u2022 Manage fiscal affairs of the office. u2022 As a member of Enrollment Management & Student Affairs, collaborate and assist with student related programming, strategic planning and initiatives, as needed. u2022 Serve on College Committees and may represent the College at pertinent CUNY-wide meetings as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree and four years' related experience required. Preferred Qualifications: u2022 A Masteru2019s Degree in Counseling, Education, Psychology, Social Work or a related area is preferred. u2022 Demonstrate knowledge of relevant higher education regulations that impact student conduct including, but not limited to, FERPA, Title IX, Clery Act, and VAWA. u2022 Experience managing and maintaining confidential case management systems u2022 Strong background in student development and restorative justice practices u2022 Experience in student conduct administration (e.g., experience working in student judicial affairs, community standards, or related compliance offices). u2022 Experience working with underprepared high school or college students and students from diverse cultures and backgrounds. u2022 Excellent conflict resolution and mediation skills u2022 Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills to work and interact effectively, collaboratively, and cooperatively with a diverse community of learners, students, faculty and staff especially in a large centralized public university system CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW - Develops and implements programming, services, and learning opportunities for students, promoting the personal development of a diverse student population. - Administers one or more student affairs programs, providing program management, assistance with policy development, supervision and training of all professional and support staff, budget monitoring, and report preparation - Serves as a resource to student groups and/or populations as a consultant and advocate for their concerns - Researches and stays current on higher education programs, trends, and issues with student impact - Produces workshops and materials to support student programs; manages on-line communities; develops on-line social networking activities, and develops and maintains multimedia content on program web sites - Performs related duties as assigned. CUNY TITLE Higher Education Assistant FLSA Exempt COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS $61,831 - $76,937 Salary commensurate with education and experience.
