Job Description

We are looking for a**Class A CDL Driver**for our**Decatur, ALLocation**.Our culture fostersaconnectedwork environment,employee engagement,andcareer development/ opportunities. **Summary/Objective** Pick up and deliver products within an assigned industrial area using Commercial vehicles which require a Class A CDL Drivers license. **Essential Functions** - Follow all safety regulations and guidelines. - Handle and store hazardous materials (pesticides, fertilizers, chemicals) in compliance with safety regulations - Use appropriate PPE (gloves, goggles, protective clothing) when working with hazardousmaterials - Retain proper DOT commercial drivers license (CDL), necessary certifications, and maintain proper training certifications and annualupdates - Inspect vehicle and other equipment before and after use for proper running order, ensuring safe operation and compliance with DOT pre-trip and post-trip inspectionrequirements - Ensure vehicle has proper emergency/safety equipment on board and in operating condition beforedriving - Ensure vehicle has proper placards/signs before transporting hazardousmaterial - Maintain correct drivers logs (if applicable), shipping papers, and permits in compliance with state and federalregulations - Prepares, receives, and provides appropriate documentation for the delivery or pick up of goods to ensure timelyservice - Record preventive maintenance and expense records for the vehicle - Operates a tractor trailer truck that transports cargo to and from specifieddestinations - Inspects, maintains, and schedules repairs on truck/trailer - Load, secure, verify, and unload cargo per operatingprocedure - Plan and direct loading/unloading of the vehicle for optimal customer service and safe transportation ofproducts - Receives and delivers products andequipment - Maintains records of deliveries and follows efficient travelroutes - Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers and be responsive to their serviceneeds - Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers and be responsive to their serviceneeds - Wash and clean the vehicle to maintain a good customer and publicimage - Train seasonal/new employees in the proper operation and maintenance of equipment and other duties aligned with therole - Works with and assists other employees with various duties when not actively driving, as assigned by the supervisor. This may include filling orders, inventory, driving forklift, general equipment maintenance, grounds work, housekeeping, etc. - Perform other assigned job tasks to ensure the successful operation of the warehouse/location - Embody GreenPoint Ag Vision, Mission, Values, and Goals in daily work, contributing to a strong companyculture **Supervisor Responsibilities** - No supervisor responsibilities **Required Qualifications** - Must have and maintain a satisfactory driving record in accordance with companyguidelines - Requires CDL Class A - Specific site qualifications and progression may apply. Advancement is not guaranteed by achieving years of experience only. Entry level and up to 0-2 years driver experience - Skill Level II - CDL Class A / may require attainment of Tanker or HAZMAT Endorsement depending on location need. 3-9 years driver experience - Skill Level III - CDL Class A / may require attainment of Tanker or HAZMAT Endorsement depending on location need. 10+ years driver experience - High School Diploma or GED, may be offset byexperience **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** - Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds asneeded - Abi ity to operate all equipment necessary to perform thejob - Ability to communicate with associates andcustomers - Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentationincluding ability to read and interpret documents such as product labels, SDS sheets, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, business periodicals and proceduremanuals - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as product quantity, load counts, and weightmeasurements - Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, and holidays asneeded - Successful hire must also be able to demonstrate the following competencies: acts with integrity in products, processes, and relationships; delivers results efficiently and effectively; embraces role as an individual contributor to the warehouseteam.**Preferred Abilities:** - **Basic knowledge/experience with small engines and hydraulics.** - **Basic welding skills.** **Work Environment** Employee will be routinely exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, adverse weather conditions and extreme temperatures associated with working in outdoor and warehouse environments. **Physical Demands** The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods and to move and handle boxes of product and fixtures throughout the facility, which entails lifting and performing all functions listed above. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and infrequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. **Travel** Travel associated with this position is typically day trips driving commercial vehicles to and from pickup and drop off locations. Overnight travel requirements are very rare. **Other Duties in the Spirit of GreenPoint Success and Teamwork** Performs tasks essential to the wholesale warehouse operations.Coordinates inbound/outbound deliveries, packs and loads product using a forklift, cleans and organizes storage areas, assists with cycle counts, and maintains a safe, clean work area. **Essential Functions** Performs regular warehouse duties, including product storage, product staging and bagging Drives a forklift to transport inbound products for storage and outbound products for delivery Organizes products in accordance with local procedures Follows logical sequence of loading and unloading trucks and/or rail cars and hand palletizing finished product Maintains a quality and professional image with customers and is responsive to their needs Pulls orders in accordance with purchase order requests Loads/unloads pallets (e.g., pulling and placing bags on pallets, operating bag machinery) Cleans warehouse and site to ensure a welcoming environment, as well as safe, sanitary working conditions Ensures equipment is in good, working condition; reports any discrepancies to site leadership; follows all safety regulations and guidelines Assists other plant/warehouse workers in various physical duties necessary in running an agricultural location Material Handler, Fertilizer Plant equipment mainte
