Join UChicago Medicine as a Full-Time Film Clerk Coordinatorin the Imaging Department.Performs clerical work of moderate difficulty, overseeing the maintenance of medical x-ray files. High level of customer interaction and communication required.Essential Job FunctionsProcesses, hangs, and removes films according to established proceduresCorrectly files all films in their appropriate subfolder and jacketConsistently, accurately, and thoroughly performs the film search procedure for both current and previous filmsResponds promptly to requests for film information or materials Performs the film movement and loan procedure appropriately Processes, delivers, and picks up clinic loan filmsPrepares conference requests pulls and loans Hangs films and pulls boards appropriatelyPerforms film processing appropriately Purges and pulls jackets between file roomsPerforms procedure for outside contractors' requests, deliveries, and shipmentsPerforms cleanup and maintenance procedures Performs supply acquisition and processAnswers telephone calls and follows telephone requests through to completion, Receives telephone copy requests for films and reviews request form for accuracy, Packages and mails filmsWorks well independently in areas as assigned, Functions as a team player in a 'team work' environment, Trains new Film File ClerksPerforms other duties assigned.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or satisfactory completion of G.E.DSix months medical records or radiology filing experienceConsiderable knowledge of numeric filing systems, i.e., the terminal digit systemEffective communication and interpersonal skillsProfessional telephone skillsDiplomacy, courtesy, and excellent customer service skills arePosition DetailsJob Type/FTE: Full-Time; 1.00 FTEShift: DaysUnit/Department: Image Management- Hyde ParkCBA Code: 743 ClericalWe’ve been at the forefront of medicine since 1899.
