You may also supervise assistants in architectural work; coordinate the services of engineers and contractors on specific projects; manage design professionals on specific projects; perform technical reviews of consultantsu2019 drawings, specifications, and reports; ensure compliance with applicable requirements, and provide advice and guidance to individuals and groups involved with the project. For provisional appointment, candidates must be meet the same minimum qualifications as listed under NY HELPS Qualifications.The appointed candidate would have to take, pass and be reachable on the next holding of the examination to be appointed permanently.70.1 Transfer Qualifications:Candidates must have one year of permanent or contingent-permanent qualifying service as a Facilities Planner 2, SG 23 OR a Professional Engineer 1 (Civil/Construction), SG 24, AND have a New York State Professional Architect's License and current registration. Only the titles listed are eligible for transfer.Note: The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in an advancement of more than two salary grades.For all transfers noted, a comprehensive list of titles approved for transfer is available through Civil Service GOT-IT at Non-Competitive Promotion (NCP) Qualifications:To be eligible for NCP, candidates must be in the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation promotion field and have at least one year of permanent or contingent-permanent qualifying service as an Assistant Architect AND must possess a New York State Architect's license and current registration at the time of appointment. If 3 or fewer qualified NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation eligible promotional employees respond to this posting, Civil Service may approve the permanent appointment of one of the qualified employees without further examination.Note: Non-competitive refers to not competing in an examination; the appointment will be competitive.Candidates may also be qualified for permanent competitive appointment if reachable from the appropriate Civil Service eligible list or eligible for reinstatement or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law. Additional Comments SALARY INFORMATION:The posted hiring rate includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for PS&T Grade 24 ($91,298), an Increased Hiring Rate ($11,736), Geographic Pay Differential ($13,500), and Downstate Adjustment ($4,000). Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in a NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.Employees appointed via the NY HELPS program are restricted for promotional appointment until their position is covered-in to the competitive class by the New York State Civil Service Commission (CSC), or they otherwise obtain permanent competitive status. The CSC has recently covered-in employees who were appointed via NY HELPS on a permanent or contingent permanent basis between June 26, 2024 and June 11, 2025.
