Senior University Director of Finance and Business Affairs, Office of Enrollment Management POSITION DETAILS The City University of New York (CUNY) is the nationu2019s largest urban public university system, comprising of 25 campuses across New York Cityu2019s five boroughs. The Office of Enrollment Management (EM) at the CUNY Central Office is seeking an experienced Senior University Director of Finance and Business Affairs to join its leadership team. This newly created, critical, and collaborative role will holistically lead the fiscal strategy for EM, overseeing a $90M portfolio and ensures the effective and efficient allocation of fiscal resources to promote EM's strategic priorities. The Senior University Director will provide comprehensive leadership in supporting short- and long-term fiscal planning, budgeting, and resource management across all EM units including EM Operations, K16 Initiatives, University Admissions, University Registrar, University Financial Aid, International Student and Scholar Services. Reporting to the Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management, the Senior University Director will work closely with the Senior University Dean of Enrollment Management and other EM leaders to advance an integrated, strategic financial planning process that enhances data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency serving the Central Office of Enrollment Management to reach its strategic goals and initiatives. The role will also collaborate closely with other Central Office departments such as Academic Affairs, the University Controller, and Procurement, and will serve as a key liaison with City and State constituents of NYC and NYS funded projects. In addition to the CUNY Title Overview information, other key duties include, but will not be limited to the following: + Lead fiscal planning, budgeting, and resource management efforts to support EMu2019s strategic priorities; continuously assess EM operations to ensure alignment with CUNYu2019s goals and effective use of fiscal and staffing resources. + Advise EM executive leadership on management of complex, multi-fund budgets, evaluating outcomes, forecast future needs, and recommend strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of EM operations. + Develop, monitor, and manage budget accounts under the direct oversight of the Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management including regular monitoring of EMu2019s procurement and personnel requests to ensure requests are moved efficiently through a multi-layered approval process. + Develop and manage multi-year financial plans and annual budgets for review and approval by the Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management. + Drive data collection and analysis to continuously improve the quality of fiscal data. Analyze trends, patterns, and relations in financial data, presenting findings visually for senior executive leadership to support strategic decision making. + Design and develop standardized financial reports based upon recurring or critical requests, automated dashboards and metrics for ongoing monitoring of EM resource allocations to support operations. + Oversee grants management activities within Enrollment Management, including oversight of the Money Smart Financial Coaching Program (MSFCP). + Supervise a team of six professional staff responsible for EM budgeting, procurement, grants, contracts and related activities. + Support the execution of special projects, and represent CUNY at City, State, and other external meetings or councils, as assigned. + Perform other duties as assigned. NOTES: -Until further notice, this position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule. QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM Bacheloru2019s degree and eight yearsu2019 related experience required. PREFERRED u2022 Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in budgeting, financial planning, resource management, and/or data analysis, preferably in a higher education or public-sector setting. u2022 Advanced degree in a related field from an accredited institution. u2022 Ability to manage and interpret large datasets, run reports and synthesize information from multiple sources to support strategic and data-informed decision-making. u2022 Knowledge of financial regulations and policies such as CUNY, NYS, and NYC financial, accounting, and budget policies and procedures. u2022 Proficiency with PeopleSoft accounting modules and related financial technologies or enterprise systems. u2022 Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. u2022 Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the University and with external stakeholders to include federal, state and city constituents. u2022 Strong analytical, project management, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to meet key stakeholders' needs and ability to engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously. u2022 Familiarity with enrollment operations in a higher education setting is highly desirable. u2022 Experience collaborating with a variety of campus stakeholders including enrollment management, academic affairs, student affairs, budget and finance and student success units. u2022 Demonstrated leadership experience, including supervision of professional staff and the ability to foster accountability, collaboration, and high performance. u2022 Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and shared governance, and to fostering an environment where all individuals are valued and respected. u2022 Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond equitably to frequently changing requirements and priorities. CUNY TITLE Higher Education Officer FLSA Exempt COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The salary is $145,671 or $155,388 , commensurate with credentials, education, and experience. Salaries of eligible employees will be adjusted by 3.5% effective 9/1/26, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.
