Athena Home Health & Hospice - We are hiring per diem Companion IIs to join our dynamic care team at Athena Care at Home in the Canaan area!Weekly pay at $17 an hour. You provide compassionate nonmedical personal care to support clients living with physical, emotional, or cognitive impairments such as housekeeping duties, personal hygiene assistance, and more.Education & Experience:Must be at least 18 years old.Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent.Must have an active and unencumbered CNA, PCA, or HHA license in the state.Duties & Responsibilities:Assist with Activities of Daily Living (bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, ambulation, eating/feeding,continence care)Skin monitoring to maintain the health of the skinRange of motion (ROM) and muscle strengthening exercises to maintain an optimal level of functioningTurning and position of the client required by a skilled nurseMedication remindersApplication and maintenance of prosthetics and orthoticsMeal planning, preparation and grocery shoppingAccompanying to medical appointmentsAssisting, monitoring or prompting the client to complete the above itemsRedirection, monitoring and observation that are integral part of a care plan in the above itemsRedirection and intervention for behavior, including observation and monitoringAppropriate reporting of changes in client statusPerforms routine household tasks as assigned in a written or electronic care planCleaning Areas:• Bathroom• Client’s Bedroom/Sleeping area• Kitchen• Living AreaLaundry/Changing bed linensDusting and vacuumingWashes DishesFloor CareTrash RemovalTakes a genuine interest in client by listening to their needs, ensuring that their environment is safeMonitors and reports client’s concerns to appropriate parties, such as company supervisors, doctors, or family membersDriving clients to planned outings or eventsProviding emotional support for clients as they heal or cope with their conditionsSpecific Requirements:Excellent customer service and listening skills.Must have a reliable source of transportation including an insured vehicle.Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to effectively communicate with the client, family, andoffice staff.Ability to read and write English.Demonstrate the ability to make appropriate professional judgments.Ability to handle multiple tasks.Able to provide covered Homemaker service according to the client’s care plan, respond appropriately to client’s needs and reports changes in the client’s condition to the supervising Manager.Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.Access to a working telephone for regular communication with Office/Manager, client, responsible party, and Staffing Coordinator.About Athena Health Care Systems:Since its establishment in 1984, Athena Health Care Systems has pioneered the delivery of exceptional healthcare services.
