Process Engineer Location: Travel to operational plants as necessary (approximately 20%)Employment: Full-time Summary of Position Assist operating ethanol plants by troubleshooting process challenges and providing timely, cost-effective solutions. Develop design packages (including equipment specifications, drawings, and P&ID updates) and assist in project management, including monitoring schedules. Main Duties Identify plant problems and implement solutions to enhance safety, reliability, quality, and cost-efficiency. Create engineering design packages, such as equipment specifications, P&ID updates, and change documentation. Establish material and energy balances for new and evolving processes with guidance from senior engineers. Design, arrange, and enhance equipment and unit operations for large-scale ethanol processes. Analyze procedures and equipment to shorten cycle time and decrease operating expenses. Develop processes for the movement and storage of liquids, solids, and gases. Create measurement and control strategies based on laboratory, pilot, and plant data. Determine effective configurations of unit operations, considering technical, economic, operability, and safety factors. Lead or coordinate activities of operators and technicians on various equipment, such as condensers, evaporators, pumps, columns, heat exchangers, valves, tanks, boilers, compressors, pipelines, and centrifuges. Conduct tests and gather data (temperature, density, specific gravity, pressure) for monitoring and controlling production processes. Apply principles of chemical engineering to address environmental and regulatory obligations. Provide technical information to clients and assist with external communications as needed. Monitor project timelines and contribute to projects from inception to completion. Requirements Must have a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering (or a related technical field). 13 years of experience or training in process engineering or a related field, specifically in a Chemical Plant setting. Skills Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe, and AutoCAD. Strong attention to detail and excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
