Job Description: The Oakton College Summer STEAM Camp program is looking for enthusiastic and innovative instructor(s) for the summer camp season. We are looking for instructor(s) to develop and teach hands-on STEAM curriculum that is fun, yet rigorous and academically challenging for ages 8-14. We are interested in all STEAM programs and career pathways: Science, Health services, Technology, Engineering Essential Functions of the Position: Development of curriculum and preparation of course presentations and instructional materialsDelivery of instruction, including being prepared for and meeting courses and at scheduled timesCompliance with departmental and institutional policies and procedures including but not limited to submission of final grades Requirements: Must have a college degree and significant experience with classroom managementMust have demonstrated experience using technology in teaching, training, or tutoring of youthMust have demonstrated experience with the subject matterMust have experience developing rigorous hands-on learningMust have the ability to engage diverse learners ages 8-14 years old Additional Information: Location: Oakton College Skokie and Des Plaines Campuses Camp Schedule: Morning Sessions 9am -12pm; Afternoon sessions 1-4pm6/8-6/116/15-6/18 6/23-6/25 (3-day camp due to holiday)6/29-7/2 7/13-7/167/01-7/237/27-7/308/3-8/6 Salary:$50 per hour Oakton College is an equal opportunity employer and has a strong commitment to diversity. Employees may have their primary residence in Indiana since Indiana is adjacent to Illinois. Based on the needs of the college and with Administrator approval, some positions at the college may have a hybrid schedule option available after 30 working days.
