Job Title: Microbiology Laboratory SupervisorLocation: Columbus, OHEmployment Type: Full-TimeLaboratory Type: CLIA-Certified Reference LaboratorySchedule: 2nd Shift - Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM-11:30 PM About the OpportunityLighthouse Lab Services is representing a large, well-established reference laboratory in the Columbus, OH area seeking an experienced Microbiology Laboratory Supervisor to lead daily operations within its clinical microbiology department. This is a key leadership position within a high-volume, CLIA-certified lab known for its commitment to quality, innovation, and patient care.The ideal candidate will bring hands-on technical expertise in microbiology, strong leadership skills, and a proven ability to oversee staff, workflow, and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced clinical setting.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise day-to-day operations of the microbiology section, including bacteriology, mycology, parasitology, and molecular testing as applicableProvide leadership, training, and performance evaluations for laboratory technologists and support staffEnsure compliance with CLIA, CAP, and other applicable regulatory standardsOversee quality assurance, quality control, and proficiency testing activitiesMonitor turnaround times, workload balance, and staffing levels to optimize efficiencyAssist in method validation, instrument maintenance, and troubleshooting of analytical systemsCollaborate with medical and scientific staff to resolve technical or interpretive issuesParticipate in audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiativesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Microbiology, or a related field requiredASCP (or equivalent) certification as a Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist requiredMinimum of 4-6 years of clinical microbiology experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead roleComprehensive knowledge of clinical microbiology methods, instrumentation, and regulatory requirementsExcellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skillsCompensation & Benefits80-90k10k Sign-on BonusComprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and more)Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates ABOUT US:At Lighthouse Lab Services, we offer solutions to help start, grow, and run clinical laboratories.
