The AMPCC is focusing on the research, development and deployment of additive manufacturing tools and processes for our business units.The Principal Additive Manufacturing Process Engineer will be challenged with solving unique and interesting problems to enable new commercial aerospace and defense products. They will be responsible for one or more of the following activities as they relate to the AMPCC, including:What you will do:Lead process development activity to improve print capability, increase speed, reduce cost and enhance material performance in support of advanced RTX Business Unit product initiativesDrive AM Qualification efforts utilizing IQ, OQ and MQ with a strong collaborative RTX Business Unit cross functional teamDevelop and utilize advanced tools and equipment to characterize machines and process spaceCollaborate with government, industry, academic, and RTX Business Unit partners to develop whitepapers, project concepts, and responsive proposalsConduct RCCA activities on build failures, machine or process issues, or product performance gapsWork with cross-functional teams including materials, design, simulation, operations, and characterization engineers to support and improve the full value streamSupport RTX Business Units by providing process expertise and best practicesQualifications You Must Have:A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.Expertise in Additive Manufacturing tools and processesScripting experience with Matlab, Python, VBA, JavaScript or similarExperience with software and tools used in Additive Manufacturing including CAD packagesExperience with metal laser powder-bed-fusion AM equipmentWorking understanding of AM machine sensors and control systemsUS Citizenship required. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
