Pay Grade/Pay Range:Minimum: $16.63 - Midpoint: $19.95 (Hourly N3) Department/Organization:507143 - Security Resources Normal Work Schedule:Varies; 12-hour shifts (days or nights) to include weekends and holidays Note to Applicants: This is a department only search. You must be a current UA employee working in the Security Resources Department to be considered. Job Summary:The Security Resources Assistant II serves as the work leader for Security Resources Assistant I employees, providing leadership, guidance, and training to support the safety and security of the campus and the University community. Assists in overseeing daily operations by monitoring, receiving, processing, and responding to information related to physical security, access control, and safety concerns. Additional Department Summary:Serves as a representative of the University of Alabama, demonstrating professionalism, leadership, and exceptional customer service while ensuring campus safety and security. As a work leader, assists with administrative responsibilities, enforces policies, provides constructive feedback, and ensures proper field training for new Security Resource Assistant I employees. Supports daily operations under the direction of the Security Resource Assistant III (SRA III) and steps in to handle leadership duties in the absence of the SRA III.Requires the ability to work 12-hour shifts with a rotating weekly pattern. May drive a UA vehicle as needed. Required Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of safety, security, and/or law enforcement experience. Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.Final candidates must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screening. Skills and Knowledge:Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong judgment and decision-making skills. Good interpersonal skills. High level of professionalism. Ability to perform a high quality of work. Technical knowledge. Preferred Qualifications:One (1) year of experience as a University of Alabama Security Resources Assistant I and a “meets expectations” or higher overall score on the most recent evaluation. Experience in serving in a leadership capacity.
