Job Title: PhlebotomistJob Description We are seeking a dedicated and professional Phlebotomist I to join our team. You will be responsible for performing daily phlebotomy activities at the Patient Service Center or in-office phlebotomy settings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Your role will involve interacting with clients, patients, and staff in a courteous and professional manner while adhering to established procedures for specimen collection and processing. Responsibilities + Perform venipunctures and other specimen collections accurately and on time. + Explain the specimen collection process clearly and courteously to patients. + Create a calm environment to reduce patient anxiety during the collection process. + Dispose of biohazard materials and contaminated sharps according to legal and company standards. + Complete and enter requisitions, patient, and billing information accurately into the computer system. + Communicate effectively with clients to confirm orders and verify test details. + Research test and client information using the lab's computer system. + Match requisition forms to specimen tubes and prepare specimens for transport. + Maintain records, documentation, and daily logs accurately. + Assist in compiling monthly statistics and perform basic clerical duties. + Ensure facility cleanliness and report maintenance needs. + Assist with inventory counts and report shortages. + Utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety precautions. + Communicate pertinent information to supervisors and contribute to a positive work environment. Essential Skills + Phlebotomy certification + Proficiency in blood draw and venipuncture techniques + Experience with geriatric and pediatric specimen collection + Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry + Strong organizational and communication skills Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with forensic and clinical specimen processing + Capability to handle fluctuating patient flow + Ability to maintain a harmonious and cooperative work environment Work Environment The position requires travel within a 2-hour radius, potentially crossing state lines. Travel beyond normal commutes is reimbursed at $0.89/mile. Extended travel beyond 2 hours may include hotel and meal accommodations. The typical work schedule is from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, but may start as early as 7:30 am based on clinic opening hours. The role involves performing 3-45 blood draws per day, and working with patients ranging from pediatric to hospice care. While no paid time off is offered, communication is key for sick days or emergencies. Adherence to the company's dress code and lab coat policy is required, ensuring a neat and professional appearance at all times. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bentonville, AR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
