Medical Records Assistant DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTION The Medical Records Assistant is responsible for the preparation (assembly and analysis), retrieval and ongoing maintenance of client records as well as analysis and closing of the discharged record. The Medical Records Assistant serves as a resource to all agency personnel. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.) Experience: One year full time experience in busy office required, medical office preferred. Experience should include a variety of tasks including filing, alphabetizing, managing records and dealing with people. Education and Training: Successful completion of high school or equivalency certification. License, Certification & Registration: N/A Other Requirements: Ability to work productively and handle interruptions efficiently. Demonstrated ability to work quickly and with a minimum of supervision. Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people. Demonstrated ability to pay attention to details. Good knowledge of medical terminology. No work history indicating breach of confidentiality. Excellent time management skills with ability to follow through on assigned tasks.
