Job Description

EP Design Services LLC (EPDS) is Edgewood’s multi-disciplinary design firm providing architectural and engineering services.EPDS provides superior design in creating memorable and viable environments.We're currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with at least 10 years of commercial and high-density residential site design and permitting experience to work within our civil engineering team at EPDS.Candidate will work full-time in our creative office located in Piscataway, NJ.Oversee a team of civil engineers and designersProject Coordination, including conferring with Ownership, attorneys, Land Development, Architecture, etc. for the purpose of preparing a comprehensive site plan designs and applicationsZoning Reviews of municipal zoning and land development ordinances and applicable agency regulations to determine land development limitations for the propertySite Investigation & Due Diligence, including the review of ordinances, utility service research, outside agency regulations and site visits to establish comprehensive development guidelinesPreparation of Concept Drawings based upon Ownership’s development objectives and conclusions of due diligence. Involves preparation of concept plan and draftingCivil engineering design for site/land development projects including, but not limited to the following:Site layoutGrading design including earthwork analysis, site grading and ADA complianceDesign of utility systems, including stormwater runoff & conveyance, sanitary sewer collection, water distribution, etc.Soil Erosion & Sediment Control Design, including stability calculations, Best Management Practices, swale design, spillway design, and determination of construction sequenceConstruction phase services in review of shop drawings and submittals for the construction phases of projectsPreparation of Written Correspondence with outside agencies, Ownership, attorneys, contractor, etc. Preparation of technical reports including drainage, sanitary sewer and site Investigation reportsOther duties as assignedQualificationsBachelor’s degree in civil engineeringMinimum 10 years of commercial & residential site design and permitting experienceProfessional Engineer LicenseUnderstand jurisdictional requirementsUnderstanding of NJ Residential Site Improvement Standards (RSIS)Construction/constructability expertise as it relates to production of design drawings and resolution of field issuesFoundation/geotechnical experience and understandingProficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3DDrainage Software - Storm CAD, Hydroflow, HydroCADProficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, Microsoft ProjectSelf-starter who can work independently and with team membersStrong organizational skillsExcellent written and oral communication skillsIn return, we offer competitive compensation, along with comprehensive benefits, including medical and dental and vision benefits, life insurance,a 401(k) with company match and a corporate team environment with opportunity of advancment.
