We want your knowledge and expertise Job Summary and Qualifications POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist,assiststhe inthe practice of occupational therapy to include developmental deficits, activities of daily living, work conditioning, range of motion, coordination, balance endurance, cognition, and implementing exercise programs to restore function and increase strength. POPULATION SERVED: Core competencies will be assessed primarily on the following patient population(s) served: Cardiac/cardiovascular, neuro, orthopedic, spine care, pulmonary including but not limited to CVA/TIA, joint replacement/fracture repair, etc. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: + Patient care: Directs andaidespatients in active and passive exercise programs, leisure activities, ADL training, coordination, balance, endurance, cognition, work conditioning, perceptual-motor activities as directed by Occupational Therapist.Assistsin fabricating splints as directed by Occupational Therapist. Communicates any change inpatientu2019scondition to Occupational Therapist. + Documentation: Complete documentation ofpatientu2019schart whichincludes:daily progress notes, team conference reports, family conference reports, and daily charges. + Supervision: Direct activities of technicians, students andvolunteers asassigned. + Interdisciplinary Interactions: Communicates and collaborates with interdisciplinary teamregarding:patient status, discharge plans, equipment needs, and recommendations. + Quality:Assiststhe clinical supervisor with implementation ofnew programsas needed. Involved with Quality Assessment and Improvement Plan. + Department compliance:Complies withdepartment Policy and Procedures, Safety/Infection Control Plans, OSHA, guidelines Employee Handbook and standards of regulatory bodies (The Joint Commission, Medicare, CARF,etc) + Demonstrates Customer Service/AIDET principles and behaviors appropriately. + Other duties as assigned.
