In this role, you will be performing essential basic to intermediate technical financial work to support the collection and associated process requirements of the organization's revenues. You will be a vital part of the finance team, ensuring all financial work meets or exceeds established benchmarks and aligns with departmental and organizational financial reporting requirements.Responsibilities:-Process and reconcile various payments, including on-line bill payments, WEB, and Call Center EFT and credit card payments.-Prepare deposit documents for transmission to the bank and cash collections for secure pickup.-Research and resolve balancing discrepancies with internal customers and record notes on specific transactions.-Manage daily bank reports, returned check instruments, and ACH Positive Pay and pay exceptions.-Perform financial functions related to basic financial distributions and processes for various state and county payments (DMV, DL, BC, HF).-Assist in collecting and analyzing data and fiscal information for spreadsheets, graphs, or public records requests.-Research incoming wires, verify payments, and respond to both internal and external customer inquiries via email, phone, or written communication.-Maintain miscellaneous statistical analyses, balances, post/record, and make correcting entries in financial records.Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PMSkills:-Experience assisting with the yearly process of creating the Statement of Changes.-Aptitude for developing, reviewing, and documenting new or changes to existing Finance policies and procedures.-Prior experience in governmental finance or accounting.-Experience in ordering departmental office supplies.Education:AssociateExperience:1-4 yearsQualifications:-Excellent communication skills and ethical standards.-Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude.-Knowledge of finance procedures and policies.-Understanding of financial software systems.-Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.-At least 4 years of progressively responsible Tax Collector experience preferred or equivalent experience.
