Position Description: CGI is seeking a Heavy Truck Driver to support the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Washington, DC. Your future duties and responsibilities: . Drive a large (10-wheel) truck to transport materials, merchandise, equipment, or workers between warehouses and facilities in the National Capital Region. . Load or unload the truck using a forklift, hand, or power trucks, with or without assistance. . Plan routes and meet delivery schedules while considering traffic and weather conditions. . Perform routine vehicle checks to ensure they are in good working condition and report any mechanical issues immediately. . Maintain detailed logs of working hours, vehicle service and repair status, delivery instructions, and customer signatures. . Demonstrate physical stamina to drive long hours and handle the physical demands of loading and unloading heavy cargo. . Exhibit strong problem-solving skills to manage unexpected situations such as traffic delays or mechanical issues. Required qualifications to be successful in this role: . A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required, along with any necessary endorsements for specific vehicle types. . Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations, as well as vehicle maintenance and safety protocols. . Adherence to all traffic laws and safety regulations, including weight limits and driving hours regulations. . Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Hourly Rate: $28.39/hour CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors including but not limited to: skill set level, relevant experience and training, and licensure and certifications. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
