This position works with mechanical devices such as gears, sprockets, chains, sheaves, belts, brakes, clutches, couplings and coupling alignment, bearings, lubrication, hydraulics and pneumatics. The Maintenance Mechanic should also have basic experience working with and troubleshooting electrical components like 240-480v motors, wiring, switches, sensors, AC and DC circuits.Ways you will make a differenceDisassembles, inspects, reassembles, troubleshoots, repairs and replaces malfunctioning parts or equipment (motors, switches, sensors, input /output boards, controllers, gears, sprockets chains, knives, etc. using test equipment and meters such as VOM, megger, amp probe and PC.Cleans, lubricates and adjusts guides, flap tuckers, sealing jaws, sensors, and timing for process systems of packaging equipment to improve efficiency, quality, or operation.Performs routine preventive maintenance procedures as per stalls change parts (pockets, flap tuckers, film folding shoulders etc.) on production machinery to run a different size, shape or product.Reads blueprints, diagrams, programs /ladder logic and machinery manuals to diagnose problems, identify parts, and learn proper equipment stalls new equipment.Actively seeks to find problems in assignment area and correct before the problem becomes critical with high municates conditions of equipment by: completing appropriate maintenance records, transferring knowledge of conditions to incoming mechanics at shift change, and informing his supervisor of significant problems.Displays cooperation by working closely with Production personnel.Improves work related skills by actively pursuing outside schooling or plant provided programs.Performs other duties as assigned.
