Position Overview Lockton Northeast is seeking a qualified actuary to help support our recent and future growth. Core Responsibilities Serve as the financial lead, or strong support for the financial lead, on client engagements, which primarily include setting strategy, project management of financial deliverables and peer review/certification of results Demonstrate success in client/prospect presentations and relationship building Strategic thinking to harmonize financial initiatives with overall client benefits strategy Financial modeling for employer group health plans including rate setting, contribution and plan design modeling, and risk management/stop loss strategies Train/mentor general consultants and junior actuaries to grow financial acumen across the Northeast Series Train and educate financial analysts and account team members on actuarial tools Credentialed ASA/FSA-track with 6-10 years of Employer Health Benefits consulting experience with particular emphasis on healthcare is required.Extensive experience in evaluating client needs and providing client service, preferably in a consultative or sales related profession.Knowledge of and experience with all aspects of the healthcare marketplace including plan design, pricing, IBNR reserves, experience projections, and administration.Demonstrated ability to meet internal and external deadlines while maintaining high quality standardsAbility to provide, where appropriate, clear direction or the ability to listen and incorporate the ideas of others.Willingness to train, mentor, and delegate to junior actuarial students.Firm understanding of underwriting processes, principles, and standards.Demonstrated commitment to serving clients and internal stakeholders while taking ownership of work product.Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Exemplary ability to compile, analyze, and interpret financial information and data to facilitate decision-making.Superior to excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skillsHigh degree of self-motivation and creative problem solvingAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Products (Excel, Access, VBA)Knowledge of SQL/Python/R, or desire to learnAbility to travel for in-person client and team meetings when needed BenefitsLockton is committed to advancing diversity and inclusion.
