You will translate and/or transcribe intermediate to advanced-level printed materials, including but not limited to: technical manuals, foreign language periodicals, and audio files into correct grammatical American English. You will work either lead or be part of a team of linguists supporting CONUS and/or OCONUS operations.More About the Role:Translation, You willAccurately translate reports/texts in electronic and hard-copy formats that contain facts and some abstract language showing an ability to capture intended implications and many nuances.Generally capture geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural elements in text. Word choice and expression generally adhere to target language norms and means of expression specific to subject field(s) and are strong enough to allow translator to operate successively in that terpretation, You will:Interpret accurately. Typically, consecutive interpretation is needed, but simultaneous interpretation (French and/or Arabic to English and English to French and/or Arabic) may be requested on occasions.Has a good understanding of one or more regional dialects.Transcription, You will:Review audio or internet materials and transcribes with a high degree of accuracy and expression.Possess excellent English-language written communication skills for preparing reports.Has a good understanding of one or more regional dialects.You will Bring These Qualifications:Ability to pass an advanced English testActive TS/SCI Clearance with adjudicated PolygraphBachelors DegreeAbility to score ILR Level 3 or higheron target language translation testMinimum five (5) years’ professional experience conducting translation, transcription, translation, and/or interpretationIn-depth knowledge of the geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural components of target language geographical areasMaster use of MS Office and internet researchThese Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:Previous military experienceHas good understanding of one or more regional dialectsConsecutive and/or simultaneous interpretation abilitiesThis position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately.
