Position Summary Bartenders areresponsible for delivering consistently exceptional guest experiences to allguests of City Winery. Duties include preparing and serving alcoholic andnon-alcoholic beverages for all patrons, maximizing tasting bar and overallbeverage sales by educating guests on beverage offerings, assisting in floorservice by tending to tables as needed, assessing and anticipating guest needs,and making recommendations. Overview of Responsibilities u25cfProvide positive guest experience including greeting,conversing with, and thanking departing guests u25cfInteract with guests, take orders, serve food andbeverages, handle transactions, and support guest service needs from beginningto end u25cfPrepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholicbeverages for patrons within the standards of City Winery u25cfUpsell, increase check average, compete in salesincentives, drive marketing promotions & special events, and promote theCity Winery brand u25cfPerform opening and closing duties including set-up,maintenance, and breakdown of the area within the allotted time frame not toexceed 20% or maximum of 2 hours of the scheduled shift time u25cfInteract with guests, take orders, and serve food asneeded u25cfAssist in floor service by attending to tables asneeded u25cfAssess guest needs and preferences, providerecommendations to upsell u25cfFollow all health and safety regulations, includingenforcing laws and ordinances in the handling and provision of alcoholicbeverages u25cfHandle payment transactions and maintain accurate cashdrawer u25cfAdhere to and abide by cash handling procedures as perCompany standards u25cfServe wine, beer and liquor in proper proportions andglassware and charging proper prices for beverages u25cfMaintain a working knowledge of City Winery brand,history, culture, and programming, both in venue and restaurant u25cfMaintain menu knowledge, including ingredients,preparation methods, and allergen information and communicate this informationtableside to guests u25cfEnsure proper amount of bar supplies and inventory isalways readily available u25cfMaintain cleanliness and safety of work areasincluding bar, floor, shelves, taps, coolers, and storage areas u25cfAttend trainings, tastings, meetings, as needed u25cfFollow all company policies, procedures, andguidelines including being ready to work at scheduled shift time, in uniform,with neat and presentable appearance u25cfPerform all other reasonably assigned duties Minimum Qualifications u25cf2+ yearsu2019 experience as a bartender in a fast-paced, high-volumeservice environment and/or equivalent relevant experience u25cfStrong work ethic, team player, and exceptional guest serviceskills u25cfAbility to consistently deliver high-quality guest experiences,exceed guest expectations, and strive to create a memorable experience at everyCity Winery visit u25cfEffective communication and interpersonal skills with a provenability to build positive relationships with people in the scope of employment u25cfAptitude to resolve problems u25cfAbility to execute professional guest service experience u25cfAbility to navigate venue conditions, including tight spaces, darkroom and loud environment u25cfAbility to handle all guests with composure and hospitality u25cfStrong knowledge of wine, craft beer and craft spirits u25cfPolished presentation u25cfAbility to take direction from others u25cfAbility to work both independently and in a team environment u25cfMust be fluently literate in English including ability to read,write, communicate, conduct basic business-related mathematics, and able toaccurately function a POS u25cfAbility to work a flexible schedule including days, nights,weekends, and holidays u25cfAbility to perform physical requirements of the role includingstanding/walking for entirety of shift, bending, pulling, pushing, usingstairs, lifting and carrying up to 50lbs.
