Position: Special Education Teacher - Cross Categorical (SPED Cross Cat) Shift: Day Shift (8:50 AM - 3:40 PM)Contract Duration: 31 weeksSchedule: Monday-Friday Role Overview The Special Education (SPED) Cross Categorical Teacher will support middle school students with diverse learning needs. The role focuses on implementing IEPs, providing differentiated instruction, and ensuring academic and behavioral growth for students across various disability categories. Key Responsibilities Provide specialized instruction to students with a range of learning and behavioral needs. Implement and monitor IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications. Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, and support staff to ensure inclusive learning. Maintain compliance with documentation requirements and special education regulations. Use data to assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies. Manage classroom behavior effectively using appropriate interventions. Participate in parent meetings, IEP meetings, and school team collaborations. Maintain regular communication with families regarding student performance and support needs. Qualifications Valid Special Education teaching certification (Cross Categorical or equivalent). Experience working with SPED students, preferably in a middle school setting. Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and compliance. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Strong classroom and behavioral management skills.
