Job Description The New York City Employees' Retirement System seeks a Certified IT Administrator to join their IT Network and Telecommunications unit in the Information Technology division. The individual will join a team of senior technicians who support 750 users in two locations and should have a minimum of five (5) years of experience working on an IT Infrastructure team. The administrator should be experienced in the configuration, support, maintenance, and upgrade of Corporate Network components, including VLAN subnetting, VSS and VPC configurations, IPSEC VPN tunnels (both remote and site-to-site), wireless networking, DHCP/DNS, and Firewall administration. The following is a list of technologies in which the individual should be proficient, and may be required to support: Cisco Nexus 9K, Cisco MDS Fiber Switches, Zoning, Cisco Catalyst Switches, and EtherChannel. HSRP, EIGRP and BGP Routing protocols. Cisco Firepower FMC and FTD. Cisco Meraki AP Wireless Network components. Citrix NetScaler Load Balancer. Cisco UCS, Fiber Interconnects. Cisco ISE and CSW. Cisco ThousandEyes cloud monitoring. Azure Portal Networking The technician may be required to engineer, design, and/or implement strategic and tactical solutions to business problems. They may be asked to develop automation scripts to carry out routine tasks, and may be responsible for coordinating deployments across NYCERS Systems. The technician will be required to periodically review technical LAN/WAN documentation and will need to clearly record their own installation and configuration processes and procedures. The technician will be required to work with minimal supervision and in a collaborative environment with other IT and Information Security staff. The technician will be responsible for identifying, diagnosing, and resolving service tickets via phone, email, and in person, and will need to handle escalations from other IT Division staff. This may mean troubleshooting problems and researching solutions independently, and regularly interfacing with our vendor partners. The person will be required to work overtime upon request. CERTIFIED IT ADMINISTRATOR (LA - 13652 Qualifications Professional/vendor certification(s) in local area network administration that is required for the position to be filled. In addition, all candidates must have the following: 1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, and two years of satisfactory full-time (not classroom based) experience in local area network and/or wide area network planning, design, configuration, installation, implementation, troubleshooting, integration, performance monitoring, maintenance, enhancement, and security management; or 2. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six years of satisfactory full-time (not classroom based) information technology experience of which at least 2 years must have been as described in
