JOB DESCRIPTION Onground Position Vacancy-Onground Short-term Adjunct Instructor for EDUC 860: Assessment and Instruction in Teaching Literacy to Children with Language and Learning Variations Bank Street College, Graduate School of Education, is looking for a Short-term Adjunct instructor for the following course to be taught July 17th and July 24th. July 17th and July 24th 2025 Sessions will meet on Thursdays, 7-9pm EST. EDUC 860: Assessment and instruction in Teaching Literacy to Children with Language and Learning Variations, 3 creditsThis course integrates research, theory, and practice as participants learn about supporting literacy development for children with reading, writing, and language variations. Participants learn about the reading and writing processes within a developmental framework. The course explores the iterative relationship between assessment and intervention, and critically examines a range of methods and materials in use in the field. Participants apply their learning as they work over multiple sessions with a child. Qualifications: Master's degree in literacy, special education, or related field required. Doctorate preferred. 5 or more years of experience in the field supporting literacy development for children with a range of learning needs and abilities, required. Experiencing teaching from children from a range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds in public and public school contexts, preferred. Experience teaching at the graduate level, preferred.
