Job Description

Job Title: Bakery Operator Job Description The Bakery Operator is responsible for operating various pieces of equipment in both production and packaging within a bakery setting. The Operator works under the supervision of the Operations Supervisor and collaborates with a team of Bakery associates to support the production line efficiently. They are trained by a subject matter expert and are expected to operate the equipment proficiently, ensuring the production process adheres to the required specifications and safety standards. Responsibilities + Ensure compliance with all safety, GMP, and quality policies and regulations. + Monitor product quality and adherence to product specifications. + Assist with training and cross-training of team members as needed. + Provide break rotations and lunches to employees as required. + Continuously improve knowledge of products and production requirements. + Maintain cleanliness in all areas of responsibility during and after production runs. + Monitor finished product quality, focusing on eliminating defects and increasing throughput. + Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to resolve challenges and improve efficiency. + Conduct routine safety checks to ensure a safe workspace. Essential Skills + Minimum 1 year of experience in a food manufacturing or related environment. + Familiarity with food processing and packaging equipment. + High mechanical aptitude demonstrated through prior work experience. + Basic troubleshooting skills. + Experience with GMPs, Food Safety, and Company Safety policies. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team. + Effective communication skills. + Ability to read and understand machine manuals, SOPs, and production orders. + Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). + Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High School Diploma or GED. + Must be 18 years or older. + Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding basic English. + Ability to work overtime and weekends if needed. + Physical ability to lift and push/pull up to 50 lbs continuously throughout the day. + Capability to stand for 8u201312 hours per shift. + Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching. + Must adhere to PPE and GMP guidelines, including specific dress code requirements. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sacramento, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.50 - $20.50/hr.
