Power Generation Service WriterLocation: Bridgeport, ConnecticutCompensation: $75,000-$90,000 per year (DOE)Confidential Call/Text Alex at 314-787-6211We are looking for a highly organized and knowledgeable Power Generation Service Writer to join our Bridgeport, CT location. This individual will serve as the central communication point between customers, service technicians, and internal departments. You’ll be responsible for writing and managing service work orders, coordinating service schedules, and ensuring an exceptional experience for clients in the industrial diesel generator space.This position is ideal for someone with strong administrative and technical skills—and is also an excellent opportunity for a current power generation field technician who wants to transition off the road and grow into a supervisor or service management role.Key Responsibilities:Serve as the main point of contact for incoming service requests and walk-in customers.Create and manage detailed work orders for field and shop technicians servicing diesel generators, transfer switches, and switchgear.Review customer issues, gather necessary job details, and coordinate diagnostic or repair visits with the dispatch municate with customers throughout the repair process—provide updates, review completed work, and address any concerns.Review technician reports and ensure all service documentation is accurate, complete, and ready for billing.Monitor service workflow to help improve efficiency and turn times.Coordinate with parts and inventory teams to ensure availability of required components before dispatch.Assist with scheduling preventative maintenance visits, warranty work, and follow-ups.Help identify service upsell opportunities and collaborate with the sales team to deliver full-service solutions.Support warranty claim processing with OEMs when applicable (Cummins, CAT, Kohler, Generac, etc.).Maintain organized digital records of customer equipment history and service logs.Qualifications:2+ years of experience in a service writer, service coordinator, or dispatcher role in a mechanical or electrical service industry (preferred).OR: Experienced power generator field technician ready to move into an office-based or leadership-track position.Strong understanding of diesel generator systems, automatic transfer switches (ATS), and related electrical/mechanical components.Excellent communication skills with a customer service anized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities at once.Proficient in Microsoft Office, and comfortable learning service management software or CRM platforms.High school diploma required; technical or trade school certification is a plus.What We Offer:$75,000-$90,000 annual salary, based on experienceFull-time, Monday-Friday daytime scheduleComprehensive benefits package: health, dental, vision, and 401(k)Paid time off, holidays, and training opportunitiesClear career path into service management or operations leadershipStable company with a strong reputation in industrial power generationLooking to build a career in leadership within the power generation field?
