Job Title: Lab TechnicianJob Description As a Lab Technician, you will be responsible for understanding and following Quality System documents such as the Quality Manual, SOPs, and Methods. You will adhere to quality measures to meet or exceed standards set by ISO/IEC, government regulatory (cGMP, GLP), and company requirements. You will also ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Proficiency in at least one core method and the ability to conduct another method with minimal supervision are essential. Operating basic lab equipment and accurately analyzing samples to meet customer commitments are key aspects of this role. Responsibilities + Understand and follow relevant Quality System documents. + Adhere to quality measures and standards, including ISO/IEC, cGMP, and GLP. + Comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations. + Maintain a clean and safe work environment. + Demonstrate proficiency in core methods and operate lab equipment. + Set up and weigh batches of samples. + Perform timely and accurate sample analysis using appropriate methods. Essential Skills + Proficiency in Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, and Laboratory techniques. + Experience in quality control, GMP, and quality assurance. + Ability to operate HPLC and conduct wet chemistry analyses. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or a related field preferred. + High School Diploma and previous lab experience required if no Bachelor's degree. Work Environment This role includes openings for proximate and dietary fiber analysis on the 3rd shift from 12 PM to 8:30 AM, with schedules from Tuesday to Saturday, Sunday to Thursday, or Monday to Friday. Training is provided Monday to Friday on the 1st shift for about a month before transitioning to your assigned shift. The facility is a large, fast-paced production lab with seven labs focused on nutritional testing for various industries. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.70 - $21.70/hr.
