Unarmed Parking Lot Security OfficerUnarmed Security OfficerPay Rate: $19 - $21 per hour based on experienceScheduled Hours: 0600-2200, Monday through Friday, with no holiday coverage required.?Location: Schenectady, NYAbout the RoleWe are seeking dedicated Security Officers to provide coverage and oversight for a high-profile facility and its parking lot. Officers will maintain a visible presence, enforce facility rules, and respond to incidents to ensure the safety and security of employees, visitors, and property.This position requires professionalism, vigilance, and the ability to respond effectively to routine and emergency situations.Key Responsibilities• Conduct routine and random patrols of parking lot and exterior areas using a company-provided security vehicle equipped with signage and flashing lights.• Observe, investigate, respond to, and report any conditions affecting facility safety or security.• Control access, prevent trespassing, and enforce BPMI safety/security procedures.• Respond to alarms or suspicious activity; summon fire, police, or BPMI representatives as needed.• Deliver incident reports and maintain compliance with post orders and procedures.• Read and follow updated security information and instructions at the start of each shift.• Maintain neatness and cleanliness in assigned areas.• Cooperate fully with BPMI representatives and facility staff to minimize disruption to operations.• Perform additional duties as directed by supervisors.Qualifications• At least 2 years of Security, Law Enforcement, or Military experience• Minimum age: 21 years.• Sole U.S. Citizenship required• High School diploma or equivalent• Eligible for or able to obtain a NY State Guard Card• Pass background check and drug screening• Strong judgment and ability to act quickly in emergencies• Professional demeanor under stress, threats, or verbal abuse• Excellent communication skills in English• Favorable results from a pre-employment investigation in compliance with DOE including:• DOE Security Clearance is not required for this role.• Good mental and physical health; ability to walk and run freely without medical devices.• No history of mental illness.• Must comply with all BPMI facility rules and regulations.Training Requirements• Compliance with New York State Security Guard Act Initial and Annual Refresher Training Programs.• Must be licensed in New York State as a security officerWhy Join Us?This is an opportunity to serve in a critical role safeguarding a high-profile facility.
