Our Markham client, a leading supplier of building supplies and materials, is looking for a General Labourer to join their team! Benefits to you: Evaluation hire (Temporary to Permanent) Full Time hours Established company with over 30 years in business Great team culture Opportunity for growth, development, and advancement Responsibilities: Load customer vehicles (trucks, vans, trailers) efficiently and safely with purchased building supplies and materials Handle a wide variety of materials, including lumber, drywall, insulation, concrete mix, fasteners, and more Assist in maintaining a clean and organized yard and warehouse area Use carts and dollies to move heavy or bulky materials Follow safety protocols when lifting, loading, or using equipment Communicate with customers in a courteous and professional manner Perform general labour and cleanup duties as needed throughout the facility Report damaged or missing materials to supervisors Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications and Skills: Bilingual in English and Mandarin or Cantonese 1-2 years of General Labour and Moving experience Basic understanding of building materials Comfortable with physical and outdoor work Comfortable lifting up to 50lbs Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Ability to follow directions and work independently or as part of a team Must be reliable, dependable, and punctual Bonus Qualifications: Experience working in a construction yard, home improvement store, or lumber yard (asset) Compensation and Hours: Monday to Friday: 8:00am to 4:30pm (Occasional Saturday) Pay Rate: $19 per hour Express Employment Professionals is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes all qualified applicants to apple; all reasonable accommodations will be made for people with disabilities.
