The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs. The Ground Systems Support (GSS) organization is looking for a bright and motivated Readiness Professional to support multiple programs for National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA). The candidate will provide readiness support primarily for Operations and Maintenance shops to include Cranes, Doors and Platforms (CDP), Crawler Transporters and Structures (STS), Emergency Egress Systems (EES), Ignition Overpressure and Sound Suppression (IOP-SS), Facility Ground Systems Pneumatics (GPNEU) and secondary back-up support to Launch Equipment Shop (LES). A background in production control, parts and material kitting, logistics inventory processes, and component calibration and cleaning processes are highly desired. Responsibilities Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to: + Daily shop support using Solumina, Maximo, and Peoplesoft as required. + Assist with maintaining kitting areas for technical shops. + Assist with ordering and kitting of required parts, materials, consumables, and PPE to support Ground Systems Support technical shops. + Expedite parts and material, track down special tooling, resolve real-time parts issues with jobs already in work. + Perform parts cross reference research to assist with ordering and/or correcting improperly identified parts. + Tracks outside purchases for turnaround times and tracks shortage reports. + Collects and routes samples and/or components from the technical shop to appropriate labs. + Process parts that need documentation to be sent back through Logistics to either restock, excel, or refurbish (return to stock process). + Scan and attach parts documentation to Work Orders as required. Process fabrication cost breakdown worksheets as required. + Collaborate daily with a team of Technicians, Engineering, Shop Management, and Planning and Scheduling. + Provide copies of material picking plan to the designated parties or storage locations. + Maintain safety, quality, and good housekeeping standards in all areas of responsibility. + Drive and track use of government vehicle for equipment pick-up. + Bacheloru2019s in a related degree field (e.g., Project Management or Eng.); or at least three years of experience in areas such as management analysis, schedule analysis, and project control functions. + Moderate knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and TEAMS. + Technicially inclined to identify parts and material required to support ground support operations and maintenance activities. + Familiar with the concept of work control and the work order lifecycle. + Familiar with the concept of preventative maintenance. + Exhibit concise communication skills daily, orally, and written. + Exhibit customer service skills daily, required for customer interaction to discuss requirements. + Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others. + Must be organized and detail oriented. + Must be self-motivated, team playes comfortable working in a dynamic environment. + Must comply with all
