JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Description Apply now Welder B - 2nd Shift PostingStart Date: 10/29/25 Job Location (Short): Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA,53204-2941 Requisition ID: 34355 Onsite or Remote: Onsite Position JoinKomatsu and Be Part of Something Big Job Overview The Welder B performsall functions of the Class C and D Welder roles, with additionalresponsibility for laying out, assembling, and tack welding structuralpieces to form complex weldments. This position willwork with a varietyof materials and equipment to produce high-quality components that meetexacting specifications. Key Job Responsibilities Review workassignments, work instructions, routings, MOPs, and complex drawings todetermine layout and sequence of operations. Plan welding requirements,visualize completed weldments, determine shrinkage and distortionallowances, and plan sub-weldments as needed. Identify and correctdiscrepancies through supervision and occasionally communicate directlywith Engineering. Apply all required PPE and follow established safetyprocedures. Lay out work using shop mathematics and appropriatemeasuring and marking tools. Utilize templates, fixtures, and jigs - orfabricate new ones when necessary. Assemble, tack weld, and completeinaccessible welds during setup. Bevel or trim parts using oxy-fuel orcarbon arc torch as needed. Heat and straighten plates using manual ormechanized oxy-fuel processes or mechanical presses. Install run-offtabs and bracing; reposition work using material-handling equipment. Setup complex weldments, ensuring part/order identification on all work.Maintain a clean and orderly workspace, perform routine equipmentmaintenance, and work safely at all times. Qualifications/RequirementsExperience: Minimum three years of open table set-up including layoutand flux-core welding Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpretcomplex blueprints, routings, and MOPs. Strong understanding of shopmathematics and measurement principles. Skilled in the use of layout,marking, and measuring tools. Proficient in the use of oxy-fuel, carbonarc, and other welding processes. Experience operating material-handlingequipment such as forklifts, clamps, wedges, and mechanized tractors.Materials Knowledge: Familiarity with carbon and alloy steels, weldingconsumables (including SAW flux), and shielding gases.
