Unarmed Security Officer (Part-Time)Unarmed Security OfficerLocation: Freedom, PASchedule: Monday-Wednesday 4:30am-12:30pm Pay: $17.00 per hour Position OverviewThe Unarmed Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment at a high-activity facility. This position requires strong situational awareness, adherence to safety protocols, and consistent monitoring of people, processes, and property. Officers will work closely with plant management, safety teams, and visitors to ensure smooth operations and rapid response to incidents.Access Control & Visitor ManagementManage entry and exit points for employees, contractors, delivery drivers, and visitorsVerify ID badges and credentials; issue temporary visitor badges when requiredMonitor gatehouses and access pointsEnsure compliance with facility security and safety rules before allowing entryPatrol & SurveillanceConduct scheduled and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including production floors, warehouses, loading docks, offices, and parking lotsMonitor security cameras and alarm systems, responding promptly to alertsInspect doors, windows, gates, and equipment for signs of tampering or security vulnerabilitiesEnsure restricted areas and hazard zones are securedSafety & Emergency ResponseRespond to emergencies such as fire alarms, medical situations, evacuations, or hazardous material incidentsProvide clear direction to employees and visitors during emergency protocolsAssist with first-aid or CPR (if certified)Immediately notify appropriate personnel (plant manager, EH&S, emergency services) of serious incidentsIncident Reporting & DocumentationMaintain accurate daily activity logs detailing patrols, visitor interactions, and security checksPrepare detailed incident reports for safety hazards, suspicious activity, rule violations, or accidentsDocument investigations or follow-up actions according to company protocolUse company computers, tablets, or reporting software to enter information in real timeCustomer Service & Professional ConductProvide courteous assistance to employees and visitorsMaintain professional appearance and demeanor in uniformAct as a resource for general facility questions and safety informationDe-escalate conflicts using communication and problem-solving techniquesPolicy EnforcementEnforce company policies including PPE rules, parking guidelines, restricted-area access, and safety protocolsMonitor for contraband or prohibited items as defined by facility rulesEnsure compliance with OSHA, workplace safety, and security standardsRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDAbility to pass background checkStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periodsBasic computer proficiency (email, incident reporting, video monitoring systems)Reliable transportation and punctual attendancePreferred QualificationsPrior experience in security, military, law enforcement, or loss preventionExperience in manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, or industrial environmentsCPR/First Aid/AED certificationPA #188
