As a Colocation Technician in AWS, you will get to help build and maintain a Cloud Computing Infrastructure across a number of local and remote Edge locations in the Americas. The role involves some periods working independently of your team and requires the ability to drive change while maintaining excellent communication. Key job responsibilities u2022 Installation and configuration of routers, switches and DWDM hardware. u2022 Troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cabling, network installations and configuration. u2022 Coordinating colocation remote hands for new capacity installations. u2022 Coordinating colocation remote hands and eyes for any network issues. u2022 Resolving colocation facility issues. u2022 Identify, coordinate, and remediate outside plant (OSP) connectivity issues. u2022 Participating in small to mid-size projects creating or expanding colocation sites. u2022 Building relationships with remote facilities to ensure swift response times to events. u2022 Performing site audits to ensure safety and quality meets AWS standards. u2022 Improving all operational processes within each site and/or cage. u2022 Updating AWS tools. u2022 Providing status updates to stakeholders via internal tools. u2022 Decommissioning of cabling and network hardware in collaboration with partner teams as needed. u2022 Physical Requirements (all physical requirements may be done with reasonable accommodations). u2022 This position has a physical component requiring the ability to lift & rack equipment up to 40lbs; it may require working in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines. u2022 This role involves up to 60% travel, the vast majority is local travel but may have potential to include some including some international travel at times. The base pay for this position ranges from $55,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $125,100/year in our highest geographic market.
