Summary/General Description Of Job: Incumbent uses various tools, testing instruments and equipment to install, inspect, repair, maintain, adjust and troubleshoot various pieces of electrical equipment. Essential Duties & Job Functions: u2022 Performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy. u2022 Installs or repairs any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment. u2022 Works from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications. u2022 Locates and diagnoses trouble in the electrical system or equipment. u2022 Works standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment. u2022 uses a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments. u2022 Work of the maintenance electrician requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience. u2022 Troubleshoots and evaluates electrical systems. u2022 Performs other related duties as assigned. May perform work in other classifications when incidental work is necessary to the accomplishment of the work assignment. Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Professional Associations): Mandatory u2022 Four (4) yearsu2019 experience in electrical maintenance work. u2022 Ability to read blueprints, bend conduits, troubleshoot, repair motors and controls, and install and repair AC and DC equipment. u2022 Ability to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of switches, transformers, and transformer hook-ups. u2022 Must have ability to work on electrical equipment located at various heights u2022 Must obtain and maintain required explosives certifications when assigned to ordnance operations. u2022 Must have and maintain hand tools of the trade to perform the normal work of the classifications. u2022 Ability to troubleshoot equipment. u2022 Ability to meet and maintain company physical and security requirements, including respirator qualification, and clearance eligibility when required. u2022 Must possess good communication skills for a service team environment. u2022 Valid state driveru2019s license with acceptable driving record. u2022 Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract. u2022 U.S. Citizenship. $46.78 per hour to $49.11 (EL01) per hour Competitive pay and top-shelf benefits package supporting our national defense.
