Machine Operator Job Description Join our team as a Machine Operator for the 3rd shift. You will work from 5:45 PM to 6:15 AM on a 12-hour rotating schedule. The role involves setting up and operating various machines, ensuring quality control, and maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of the production area. Responsibilities + Set up and operate Cutting & Roll Wrapping Machines. + Cut cores to size for slitter, ensuring proper supplies of cores for Slitting Jobs. + Weigh plastic rolls and label them properly. + Palletize rolls and deliver them to the finished goods area. + Follow GMPs, PRPs, and production SOPs. + Conduct final inspection of rolls according to Final Inspection procedures. + Report all unsafe acts and conditions immediately. + Mix adhesive according to formulas and perform first piece inspection. + Set up and operate machines according to procedures. + Maintain cleanliness of machines and adjacent work areas to SQF standards. + Utilize satellite containers for Hazardous Waste. + Report quality issues to Laminator Operator I and/or manager. + Verify correct calculation of needed adhesive for the job. + Assist the operator with adding adhesive, changing raw material rolls, and other tasks. + Operate machine for break coverage. Essential Skills + 6+ months of manufacturing operating experience. + Ability to read and take measurements. + Ability to read, write, and speak English. + Ability to lift 50 lbs consistently. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Specific flexographic or metals slitting experience. + Mechanical aptitude. + Experience operating overhead hoist. + Experience with machine operations in a packaging company. + Experience from a GMP company is a plus. + Machine setup experience is a plus. + Background in corrugated packaging or printing is a plus. + Training in safety protocols is a plus. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elk Grove Village, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.10 - $23.10/hr.
