Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee the financial operations of a hospitality organization in Honolulu, Hawaii. This role involves leading accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance activities, while also supervising other operational areas such as IT, purchasing, and boutique services. Responsibilities: u2022 Lead the development and management of annual budgets, monthly financial forecasts, and capital expenditure plans. u2022 Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing actionable insights to senior leadership. u2022 Supervise accounting, IT, purchasing, and other operational functions to ensure efficiency and accuracy. u2022 Oversee month-end and year-end financial close processes to maintain accurate financial records. u2022 Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as internal financial reporting standards. u2022 Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and enhance transparency in financial operations. u2022 Guide inventory management processes to ensure proper valuation and reconciliation of assets. u2022 Manage internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to regulatory and organizational standards. u2022 Mentor and lead departmental teams, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. u2022 Support strategic projects, such as renovations or new business initiatives, by providing financial analysis and recommendations. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial management, with a focus on hospitality or similar industries. u2022 Strong proficiency in accounting processes, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. u2022 Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams across multiple operational departments. u2022 Knowledge of compliance standards and internal controls related to financial operations. u2022 Experience with document control, scanning, and compiling financial documents. u2022 Familiarity with hotel management systems and operational procedures. u2022 Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to provide actionable financial insights. u2022 Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is a plus.
