This role combines technical expertise with leadershipresponsibilities to ensure efficient workflow, high-quality repairs, andexcellent customer service. The ideal candidate is experienced,organized, and capable of managing a team in a fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesMechanical / Technical Duties- Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of vehicles.- Complete work ranging from basic services (oil changes, brakes, tires) to advanced mechanical repairs.- Ensure repairs are completed accurately, safely, and in a timely manner.- Maintain knowledge of current automotive technology, tools, and repair procedures.- Conduct test drives to confirm quality of work.Shop Management Duties- Oversee daily shop operations, workflow, and productivity.- Assign jobs to technicians based on skill level and workload.- Order parts, manage inventory, and maintain proper stock levels.- Ensure shop cleanliness, safety standards, and equipment maintenance.- Communicate clearly with service writers, customers, and team members.- Review repair orders for accuracy and completeness.Leadership & Customer Service- Train, mentor, and support technicians and apprentices.- Provide technical guidance and assist in troubleshooting difficult repairs.- Address customer concerns professionally and ensure a positive service experience.- Support business goals by maintaining high-quality standards and efficient processes.Qualifications- 35+ years of automotive technician experience required.- Prior shop management or team lead experience preferred.- Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills across multiple vehicle systems.- Ability to multitask and manage workflow effectively.- Excellent communication and leadership skills.- Valid drivers license and clean driving record.- ASE certifications a plus (optional based on your needs).Physical Requirements- Ability to lift 50+ pounds.- Ability to stand, bend, and move for extended periods.- Comfortable working with tools, equipment, and in a shop environment.Schedule & Compensation- Full-time, MondayFriday Competitive pay based on experience- Benefits may include: health insurance, paid time off, uniforms, tool allowance, etc.
