This position involves operating various trucks and equipment, transporting materials and machinery to job sites, and assisting in road construction projects as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, the ability to travel, and a commitment to safety and teamwork.Desired CompetenciesStrong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Professionalism and a courteous attitude toward coworkers, supervisors, and the public.Willingness to assist in various tasks beyond driving when needed.Essential Job FunctionsOperate and drive various trucks assigned to the road crew, including dump trucks, tractors pulling lowboys, service trucks hauling over 10,000 lbs., and company pickups.Load, unload, and apply pavement preservation materials as needed.Perform manual labor to prepare surfaces for paving when assisting the crew.Ensure proper loading and securement of materials and equipment before transport.Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles.Maintain necessary logs, driving records, and DOT ply with all company safety policies and requirements.Report to job sites in proper attire and ready to work at the designated start time.Maintain organization and handle multiple tasks efficiently.Represent the company with professionalism and integrity.Qualifications and Education RequirementsValid Class A CDL License required.Must pass MVR, Clearinghouse, and Pre-Employment Testing.Tanker and Hazmat endorsements preferred.Ability to travel and stay overnight for a week at a time, occasionally up to two weeks.Physical RequirementsAbility to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended fortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.Capable of securing loads, handling equipment, and performing manual labor when necessary.Ability to remain alert and responsive while operating vehicles and pensation And BenefitsWeekly pay.Overtime pay after 8 hours worked in a day or 40 hours in a pany pays $125 Per Diem for lodging and food expenses when traveling.100% company-paid health insurance for employees.Paid time off after one year of employment.$20,000 company-paid life insurance for employees.Performance-based profit-sharing bonus at the end of the season.401(k) and Roth retirement plans with annual profit-sharing contributions based on company success.Optional dental, vision, voluntary life, and short-term disability insurance for employees and their families.Opportunities for growth, development, and internal promotions.Vance Brothers is an equal opportunity employer.
