Job DescriptionPLEASE NOTE: This is a project / limited term position. Engagement will be per event/assignment based upon business need. Employment can be amended or terminated as deliverables for the assignment are completed.As a Video Operator (V1), you will work under the direction of the Producer, Director, Technical Manager and/or other production or management representatives to provide images for the telecast. You will be able to work with the TM and maintenance engineers to assist with positive solutions regarding equipment malfunction or failure.The V1 shall have the ability to:Provide all CCU information to all departments involved with the telecastProvide and receive information from outside vendors regarding all camerasAssist with video feeds through CCU’s to execute camera and video cabling, connections and patchingMaintain images to broadcast standardsOperate other equipment and perform other services related to his/her job responsibilitiesDuties and Responsibilities:Work closely with Studio Director, Building Engineer to set camera look and shading for all cameras, both robotic and manned in coordination with the game script.Assist with the maintaining, cleaning and testing all equipment and cameras to ensure every tool is in good working order each day before event startsParticipate in pre-event coordination planning meetingEnsure the safety of equipment at all timesRespect standards and regulations regarding the safety of camera equipment, and apply safe work methodsProvide support and assistance to other studio areas as neededPerform additional duties and assist with special projects as assignedQualificationsBasic Requirements:Minimum two (2+) years of experience in a live news and/or sports production control room environmentExperience using camera control units, color correction devices, waveform monitors, vector scopes, camera chipping and patch baysFamiliar with the language of event production and have a working knowledge of all current technologyKnowledge of HDR formatsFamiliarity with Cobalt Color Corrector SystemFamiliarity with Cerebrum Routing SystemDesired Characteristics:Minimum three (3) years of experience using camera control units, color correction devices, waveform monitors, vector scopes, camera chipping and patch baysAbility to think quickly, communicate well and keep pace with fast moving studio showsPrevious experience with iNews systemsExcellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skillsAbility to work in fast-paced, team-oriented environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneouslySolidclient service and interpersonal skills and the ability to handle pressure in an on-air environmentKnowledge of live sports TV production processesCollege or technical school graduateAdvanced PC computer skillsAdditional Requirements:Interested candidate must submit a resume/CV through to be consideredMust have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United StatesWillingness to work extended hours, weekends and holidays based on event scheduleMust be willing to work in Stamford, CTAbility to travel as requiredMust be 18 years or olderRequired On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.Additional InformationAs part of our selection process, external candidates may be required to attend an in-person interview with an NBCUniversal employee at one of our locations prior to a hiring decision.
