About the role As Lead/Architect , you will make an impact by showing your proficiency in Java (Java 8+, Java 17) , Spring Boot , Microservices , and Apache Kafka , including Kafka Streams API . This role involves leading the design and implementation of scalable, resilient event streaming platforms for enterprise applications. You will be a valued member of the Engineering & Cloud Solutions team and work collaboratively with architects, DevOps engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality, secure, and efficient solutions. In this role, you will: u00b7 Lead the architecture and development of event-driven microservices using Java 8+/Java 17 and Spring Boot . u00b7 Design and implement real-time data streaming solutions using Apache Kafka , including Kafka Streams API . u00b7 Define and enforce best practices for event sourcing, stream processing, and message-driven systems. u00b7 Collaborate with data engineering and platform teams to integrate Kafka with enterprise data pipelines. u00b7 Optimize performance and scalability of streaming applications across distributed environments. u00b7 Work with Oracle, SQL Server, and NoSQL databases for data persistence and retrieval. u00b7 Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and security of event streaming platforms. u00b7 Mentor developers and contribute to architectural decisions and code reviews. u00b7 Collaborate with DevOps teams to automate deployment and monitoring of Kafka-based services. What you need to have to be considered: u00b7 10+ years of experience in backend development using Java/J2EE . u00b7 Strong hands-on experience with Java 8+, Java 17, Spring Boot , and Microservices . u00b7 Deep expertise in Apache Kafka including Kafka Streams API , Kafka Connect , and Kafka topics/partitions . u00b7 Experience with Oracle, SQL Server , and/or NoSQL databases. u00b7 Solid understanding of event-driven architecture, stream processing, and message queuing systems. _Please note, this role cannot offer visa transfer or sponsorship now or in the future_ These will help you stand out: u00b7 Bacheloru2019s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. u00b7 Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps practices. u00b7 Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills. Salary and compensation: The annual salary for this position will be between $81,337 to $163,000 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizantu2019s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizantu2019s applicable plans.
