The final candidate will have a stellar track record in bridge and structural projects, with a strong work ethic and a collaborative mindset. In this role you will apply more advanced CAD techniques and develop difficult complex structural and bridge layouts and design drawings utilizing either 2D or 3D CAD software to meet company and industry standards and codes. You may also serve as a Lead Designer on small to medium-sized projects. The final candidate will be located in or near St. Louis, this role youu2019ll be responsible for:u2022 Utilizes a CAD workstation to prepare difficult and complex layout and design drawings utilizing theoretical and practical design knowledge.u2022 Performs complex drafting tasks efficiently and accurately both independently and as part of a team.u2022 Interprets and ensures conformance to applicable standards and codes, as well as company policies and procedures.u2022 Understands and utilizes more advanced software to complete assignments.u2022 Works closely with Engineers and other disciplines to ensure coordinated designs.u2022 Meets layout requirements and develops alternate design layouts as required.u2022 Prepares reinforcing details, bar schedules, and bill of materials.u2022 May assist in inspections of existing bridges and other structures under construction.u2022 Reviews supplier data and supplier drawings, as required.u2022 Develops and reviews orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) drawings.u2022 Performs checking procedures as appropriate to the discipline and assigned by immediate supervisor.u2022 Provides input and technical guidance for mentoring lower-level Designers working on the same and other projects.u2022 Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.This description of responsibilities is not a comprehensive listing of what may be required from the employee.
