Description Staff Accountant - Milford CT Reference ID: BR0013307998 Contact: Brittany Rizzo / growing client is adding a staff accountant to their team In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and supporting accurate reporting processes. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the financial health of the organization while honing your accounting skills, and working under a top notch Controller. Responsibilities: u2022 Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure compliance u2022 Manage sales tax filings and address related inquiries. u2022 Post and reconcile journal entries to maintain accurate financial records. u2022 Maintain and update the general ledger to reflect all transactions accurately. u2022 Assist with month-end close processes, including account reconciliations and reporting. u2022 Analyze financial data and prepare reports for management review. u2022 Collaborate with team members to improve accounting processes and procedures. u2022 Support audits by providing necessary documentation and information. u2022 Monitor and ensure adherence to company accounting policies. u2022 Backup for accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll functions as needed Requirements u2022 Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting u2022 Knowledge of sales tax and corporate tax regulations. u2022 Experience with journal entries and general ledger maintenance. u2022 Familiarity with month-end close procedures and financial reporting. u2022 Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail. u2022 Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. u2022 Strong organizational and time management skills. u2022 Prior experience within manufacturing, distribution, retail or similar industry Robert Half is the worldu2019s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
