About The Match The Match High School & Career Center prepares students for success in college, career, and life through rigorous academics and hands-on Career & Technical Education (CTE) pathways. We are seeking a reliable, skilled CTE Instructional Assistant who is passionate about helping students build foundational trade skills in a safe, supportive, and career-focused environment. Position Overview The CTE Instructional Assistant supports the CTE instructor in delivering high-quality, hands-on instruction in Welding, Construction, and related manufacturing trades. This role includes supervising shop activities, ensuring safety protocols, assisting with demonstrations and projects, and helping students develop technical and employability skills. This is an ideal role for someone with experience in a skilled tradeu2014or someone with strong general construction or manufacturing knowledge who is eager to support the next generation of trades professionals. Key Responsibilities Instructional Sup port + Assist the lead instructor with demonstrations, hands-on lessons, and welding/construction projects. + Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students as they learn trade skills. + Reinforce safety procedures, tool operation, and industry best practices + Help students understand technical concepts, proper tool use, measurements, and project requirements. Safety & Shop Management + Monitor students during shop/lab activities to maintain a safe learning environment. + Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols at all times. + Assist in organizing, cleaning, and maintaining tools, materials, and workspaces. + Support tracking and inventory of equipment and supplies. Student Engagement & Support + Build positive relationships that encourage student growth, effort, and confidence. + Model professionalism and strong work habits aligned with the trades industry. + Support classroom management and reinforce expectations for behavior and participation. Team Collaboration + Work closely with the Trades Instructor and CTE team to support instructional goals and program needs. + Participate in school-wide meetings, professional development, and required trainings. + Uphold the schoolu2019s mission, values, and student-centered approach. u00a0 Qualifications + Required + Experience in a skilled trade OR comfort and competence with general construction, manufacturing, or industrial technology. + Strong understanding of tool safety, shop procedures, and hands-on project work. + Ability to support and positively interact with high school students. + Willingness to obtain any certifications or training required by the school. + Preferred + Certification or documented experience in Welding, Construction, or a related trade. + Experience working in education, youth programs, or training environments. + OSHA or safety training certificates (helpful but not required).
