This intermediate-level clerical position will allow you to apply your professional service-orientation, good judgment and independent thinking in your daily work functions.ResponsibilitiesYou will assure complete and accurate patient admissions/registrations according to organization policy and procedures and regulatory requirementsYou will obtain inpatient bed assignments and processes inpatient admission, including arm banding, addressograph plate, and completion of necessary formsYou will pre-admit all scheduled inpatient, outpatients and ambulatory patients to facilitate a smooth and speedy admission/registration processYou will obtain direct admit information and enter a reservation in the computer system in order to notify other areasYou will complete comprehensive bedside or telephone interviews with the patient, relative, or their representative to obtain pertinent demographic insurance and/or third-party liability informationYou will perform eligibility verification and resolves any discrepancies, determine the need for financial assistance recommendation and application, referring to the Financial Counselor where necessaryRequirementsGraduate of a health vocational program such as Patient Access, Medical Assistance Medical Billing & InsuranceOROne (1) year of experience performing any combination of admitting, Health Unit Coordinator, patient registration, customer service or billing duties required; healthcare setting preferredWhy Mary Bridge Children's?Mission-driven:Partnering for healing and a healthy future for the patients and communities we serveAward-winning:Named 'Top Children's Hospital' for five years by the Leapfrog Group; physicians consistently named on 'Top Doctors' lists by Seattle Magazine, Seattle Met and the Tacoma News TribuneGrowing: New pediatric hospital facility and medical office building opening in 2026Leading research:MultiCare Institute for Research & Innovation partners with our pediatric providers, offering ground-breaking research and clinical trialsEmployee-centric:MultiCare is consistently ranked among
