Job Title: Infection Prevention Specialist Job Description The Infection Prevention Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining healthcare standards by ensuring compliance with infection prevention policies and practices. While a basic knowledge of infection prevention and epidemiology is required, comprehensive training will be provided on the job. The specialist will work collaboratively with leadership and medical directors to uphold local, state, and federal guidelines, providing consultative services focused on delivering high-quality care efficiently. Responsibilities + Implement and comply with infection prevention policies at various levels within the organization. + Collaborate with infection prevention leadership, medical directors, and peers. + Adhere to local, state, and federal guidelines, standards, and regulations. + Provide consultative services to optimize quality care and cost-efficiency. Essential Skills + Acute care experience in various service lines such as surgery, NICU, Cardiac, Critical Care, and ER. + Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology, or a related health science field. + Certified in Infection Control (CIC). + Experience in infection control and prevention, a-IPC, epidemiology, and Epic systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Preferred Master's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology, or a related health science field. + 3-5 years of experience in healthcare, epidemiology, or infection prevention. + Knowledge of surveillance documentation tools such as Bugsy. Work Environment The position operates within a Monday to Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with no holidays or weekends required. The role does not involve floating or on-call duties. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Spokane, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $50.00/hr.
