Scheduled performance reviews Referral program POSITION SUMMARY: The Accounting Clerk plays a vital role in a high-volume transaction environment by reconciling vendor accounts, managing three-way invoice matching and posting, and responding to inquiries. Additional responsibilities include processing payroll hours, preparing reports, and performing account reconciliations. The role may also encompass various other accounting duties as assigned. With minimum supervision, responsible for any combination of calculating, posting and verifying of accounting data of a complex nature which requires thorough knowledge and understanding of one or more of the following functions: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cost Accounting, Billing and Payroll/Labor. RESPONSIBILITIES: u2981 Ensure proper coding, approval, and documentation of invoices in accordance with company policy. u2981 Accurately post invoices to ensure timely payment to suppliers in accordance with purchase order terms. u2981 Reconcile supplier statements and accounts on a regular basis. u2981 Maintain compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls. u2981 Participate in month-end close activities to ensure accurate general ledger entries and make necessary corrections. u2981 Support internal and external audit preparation and follow-up activities. u2981 Resolve discrepancies and issues with business partners and vendors promptly. u2981 Prepare various reports and perform accounts payable reconciliations. u2981 Process payroll hours accurately and ensure timely reporting. u2981 Undertake ad hoc tasks as needed. u2981 Prepare accounts receivables, journal vouchers, progress billings, operating and financial statements. u2981 Post and balance journal entries. u2981 Type vouchers, invoices, statements, reports and maintain records. Assist in the preparation of financial reports and operating statements. u2981 In the payroll function, may process time records, compile payroll statistics, calculate deductions such as Social Security, withholding taxes, 401k contributions, or garnishments, and disburse payroll. u2981 Review work of accounting clerks and assist when needed. u2981 Investigate questionable data and take corrective action when necessary. Analyze and reconcile ledger accounts. u2981 Interface with functional departments, management, vendors and customers. u2981 Perform other related responsibilities.
