Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your application within four months of appointment. The care is provided in various clinical settings, including outpatient, telehealth, residential, inpatient, and consultation-liaison. The Psychiatrist serves as the subject matter expert in support of the Behavioral Health multidisciplinary team with responsibilities of providing clinical education, coordinating consults, and triaging specialty clinic referral not limited to: Directly provides a full range of present-day, evidence-based therapeutic interventions including: diagnostic assessment, mental status examination, psychotherapy, medication evaluation and management Ensures all clinical care is delivered in accordance with TJC, CARF, HIPPA, VA policies and procedures, clinical practice guidelines, national statutes and regulations, medical record documentation, and mandatory continuing education. Participates effectively in team meetings and treatment planning conferences and collaborates with multidisciplinary team members in the coordination of comprehensive patient care. Participates in supervision and teaching of trainees in support of the VA mission. Encouraged to participate in research projects Depending upon assigned duty station, rotate call duties with other Psychiatrist for after-hours/weekends for inpatient admissions and emergency consultation on a regular rotation. Depending on fluctuating staffing patterns and workloads, the provider may be assigned to other programs within Behavioral Health Service Line. The Psychiatrist is responsible and accountable to the Associate Chief of Staff, Behavioral Health Service Line who gives general guidance. Work Schedule: To Be Determined by Supervisor; typically, Monday- Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Requirements Conditions of Employment U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
