This position plays a critical role to support the universityu2019s mission on recruitment ensuring all steps are handled promptly and professionally and to support newly hired and current employees throughout their career. The HR Generalist will serve as a resource to employees and collaborate with members of the campus community developing collegial working relationships with individuals at all organizational levels. This role requires someone who is organized, detail-oriented, has excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills, and can act with integrity and professionalism including sensitivity to personal and confidential information. Key Responsibilities: u2022 Facilitate the recruitment processing including providing assistance to users in the applicant tracking system; monitoring positions as they are created, posted, and closed; provide training on search procedures and navigation; assist candidates and users with questions to move through the hiring process smoothly; troubleshoot issues; maintain data in system. u2022 Assist with reports, surveys, and lists including state and federal requests, SUNY requests, data management, and requests from various departments. u2022 Understand and process all types of paperwork for an employeeu2019s life cycle which includes job posting, onboarding, new hire, contracts, performance programs, training, retention, and exit interviews. Required Qualifications u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in business or related field. u2022 Progressively responsible experience as a professional in human resource management. u2022 Demonstrated knowledge of employment laws including state and federal employment. u2022 Experience working with HRIS and other web-based management systems. u2022 Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. u2022 Proficiency in report writing software. u2022 Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Preferred Qualifications u2022 Professional experience in human resource management in a public, unionized setting. u2022 Professional experience in human resource management in a higher education setting. u2022 Professional Human Resource Management Certification (i.e., PHR , SHRM -CP, SPHR ).
