Example of Duties This position serves as a Lead Lifeguard. Provides lifesaving services and maintenance of aquatic facilities as required; provides supervision of participants to ensure the safety of Municipal aquatic facility users and waterfront area; communicates information to coworkers, immediate supervisor and the public; provides a wide variety of water safety instruction to children and adults; performs facility and ground security; assigns and performs duties related to maintaining water quality standards. Reports any pool related mechanical, equipment, or supply issues. Ensure Parks and Recreation Aquatics Division policy and procedure standards are followed. Assist with training staff to maintain lifeguard skill requirements. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and one (1) year lifeguard experience and experience as a swim instructor.
