Come join our teamInventory Specialists are responsible for ensuring the availability of parts for the maintenance department (Corporate Inventory Specialists are responsible for multiple departments) in a cost-effective manner, while maintaining compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies and procedures. This position maintains records on a computerized system and is responsible for maintaining proper inventory to ensure demands are met in the most efficient manner possible.Responsibilities of Position:Issue necessary replacement parts to mechanicsReceive and unpack parts, verifying accuracy of shipment from vendor including parts' numbers, quantities, and pricingReceive, tag, stock, and disburse parts to technicians or outlying locations according to policies/proceduresPrepare purchase orders for purchases of parts and equipmentPerform weekly cycle counts and conduct physical inventory auditsInvestigate and reconcile inventory reportsPrepare and process warranty claimsReturn parts and cores according to policy and procedure and track credits accordinglyComplete inventory information and present it to management for efficient decision-making, which may involve restockingProcess and maintain outbound deliveries electronicallyDrive a company vehicle on daily/weekly routes to outlying locations as neededMaintain a professional work atmosphere by performing and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with customers, clients, co-workers and managementMaintain cleanliness and organization of the stock room; perform routine housekeeping duties in the parts room, shop, and work areaCorporate Inventory Specialists will process transfer purchase orders issuing necessary replacement parts to outlying locations relieving them from main inventoryPerform other duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibility:This position will not manage employeesSkills & Abilities Needed for Position:Intermediate Microsoft Office skills: Outlook, Excel (including statistics and pivot tables a plus), & WordAbility to learn and maintain a solid understanding of inventory-related best practicesAbility to effectively utilize parts manuals and manufacturer build sheetsComputer proficiency with good data-entry skillsExperience & Knowledge Needed for Position:Heavy-duty truck parts experience preferred1-2 years office experience preferredBasic knowledge of vehicle parts, maintenance, and repair preferredCorporate Role- It is preferred to have a valid DOT Medical Card or the ability to obtain one within the first 90 days of employmentPhysical Requirements in a Regular Workday:Frequently lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 20 lbsOccasionally lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 35 lbsRarely lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 75 lbsOccasionally working outside in changing temperatures, wet/humid conditionsContinuously working in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, and other airborne matterOccasionally stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawlingRarely climbing
